Universities Australia held its annual jamboree last week, and the need for quality social science data was high on the agenda. No, not better census data – God forbid. What it wanted was more data on sexual harassment and assault.
These and other forms of sexual misconduct are perpetually in the news, and it’s not just parliament that has a problem. Last year, the University of Adelaide’s vice-chancellor, Peter Rathjen, resigned amid accusations of sexual harassment.
