About Salvatore Babones
Salvatore Babones is a lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Social Policy at The University of Sydney and the author or editor of three books (see books page). His main research program centers on the study of income stratification in broad cross-national perspective. Recently he has focused in particular on the relationships between globalization and inequality and between inequality and health. He also works on problems of measurement and estimation in quantitative macro-comparative research, including an upcoming monograph on the topic for Sage. His work has recently been published or accepted for publication in Journal of Sociology, International Review of Modern Sociology, Journal of World-Systems Research, Social Science and Medicine, and Public Health. Salvatore Babones earned his MSE in mathematical sciences in 2002 and his Ph.D. in sociology in 2003 from The Johns Hopkins University.
